Zouha Sakr is a founding partner of SAAS Lawyers | Avocats, with particular expertise in WTO accession, competition law, international trade and dispute resolution. She has advised Lebanon’s Minister of Economy as part of a UNDP-funded team on trade facilitation, EU partnership agreements, WTO accession and regional integration initiatives, notably leading Lebanon’s services negotiations under the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA).
Zouha represents clients in management consulting, banking, insurance, regulatory, competition, intellectual property, government contracts, corporate and international trade matters, acting both as legal advisor and in court and arbitration proceedings.
Prior to joining SAAS, Zouha was a senior international trade law expert with the United Nations Development Program and a senior lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising the Lebanese government on complex trade law issues. She also served as Senior Lawyer on the USAID-funded Booz Allen Hamilton Project advising the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Zouha is a Part I Legal Practitioner at DIFC Courts, Dubai (2014).
Zouha represents clients in management consulting, banking, insurance, regulatory, competition, intellectual property, government contracts, corporate and international trade matters, acting both as legal advisor and in court and arbitration proceedings.
Prior to joining SAAS, Zouha was a senior international trade law expert with the United Nations Development Program and a senior lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising the Lebanese government on complex trade law issues. She also served as Senior Lawyer on the USAID-funded Booz Allen Hamilton Project advising the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Zouha is a Part I Legal Practitioner at DIFC Courts, Dubai (2014).
- Author of several articles, reports, and book chapters on international trade and dispute resolution.
- Conducted a comparative study commissioned by ESCWA (2012) on the Liberalization of Trade in Four Key Services Sectors (Transportation, Telecommunication, Financial Services, and Tourism) across Jordan, Oman, UAE, and Egypt.
- Lecturer in International Trade Regulations and Dispute Resolution at Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth – School of Economics.
- Lecturer in Banking Law and Regulations at ISSED School of Law, Beirut.
