Our Firm / Guiding You Across Borders
SAAS (Sakr, Awwad, Abi-Najem & Sakr) is a boutique law firm offering tailored advisory, transactional and dispute resolution services in corporate, commercial and financial law. Founded in 2013 by experienced international lawyers with over a century of combined experience — we have built a leading practice recognised for cross-border and international matters, with particular strength in arbitration across significant industries.
From our offices in Beirut (Lebanon), Paris (France) and Ras Al Khaimah (UAE), we advise clients across the Middle East, Europe and the United States, combining local insight with a global perspective. Our multi-jurisdictional approach allows us to act directly in cross-border transactions and disputes, supported by an extensive network of international alliances. We provide bespoke solutions for complex, high-stakes matters, continually adapting to meet the evolving needs of our international clientele while staying at the forefront of global legal developments.
Our Team / Local Insight, Global Expertise
SAAS lawyers are recognised for their extensive expertise and experience across all of our core practice areas and industries, advising on complex matters including cross-border transactions, high-stakes arbitration and international trade. We guide clients through mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, project development and new technology-driven ventures, while also advising on foreign investments, distribution and trade, contract negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Many of our lawyers are admitted in multiple jurisdictions and are fluent in several languages, enabling us to advise seamlessly across borders. This international reach, combined with strong alliances worldwide allows us to deliver integrated top-tier solutions in complex transactions and disputes.
Beyond client work, our lawyers hold leadership roles in legal, professional and academic organisations, continually expanding their knowledge, expertise and networks. This commitment ensures SAAS remains at the forefront of global legal developments while providing clients with responsive, world-class service.
Our Clients / Trusted Partnerships
SAAS work with a broad spectrum of clients—from multinational corporations and financial institutions to governments, international organisations and diplomatic missions. Entrepreneurs, family businesses and private clients also turn to us for guidance on their most pressing challenges, knowing they receive the same strategic care and discretion as our largest mandates.
Our role goes beyond addressing immediate legal issues. Built on trust, adaptability and insight, each relationship allows us to navigate global complexities alongside our clients. Whether in finance, technology, energy, construction, transportation, hospitality or retail, SAAS helps anticipate risks and seize opportunities, delivering solutions that are both commercially sound and precisely attuned to their unique needs.
Community Outreach / Purpose in Action OR Commitment in Practice
Championing human rights and strengthening our communities is at the heart of what we do. We believe purposeful advocacy is essential to the law—and to our role as leaders in the field.
At SAAS, we recognise that access to justice is often limited. Through volunteering and partnerships with civil society, we support initiatives that advance human rights, education and cultural expression––strengthening the communities in which we live and work.
Our lawyers have taken a leading role in landmark cases and initiatives: representing the Association for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms (ADDL) against the Ministry of Interior to safeguard freedom of association; establishing the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) and contributing to its by-laws, electoral reform memorandum and monitoring campaigns; and advocating for civil marriage rights in Lebanon, providing pro bono counsel to couples seeking official recognition.
Beyond civil liberties, we support organisations driving social and cultural impact, including the Association for the Development of Rural Capacities, where we aided microcredit and labor market initiatives; Lebanese Alternative Learning, assisting with an e-learning platform for underprivileged students; and the Association for the Promotion and Exhibition of the Arts in Lebanon, which represented the country at the Venice Biennale 2015 and continues to advance Lebanese art internationally.
Pro bono work is integral to who we are at SAAS. Each engagement reflects our belief that the law is not only a profession but a responsibility, and that purposeful advocacy strengthens both our communities and our role as legal leaders. We encourage our lawyers to take on projects that resonate with their convictions and expertise.
